PHYSIOLOGY


The Department of Physiology at Rahbar Medical & Dental College is a center of academic excellence, dedicated to fostering a deep understanding of human physiology through interactive and research-driven learning. The department is headed by Prof. Dr. Rafique Ahmad Khan, a highly esteemed subject specialist with over 27 years of teaching experience at prestigious institutions across Punjab. Dr. Rafique has been part of the department for more than twelve years, and his expertise is recognized through his role as an examiner for several prominent universities, including UHS, UOL, Superior University, and NUMS. In addition, he is also responsible for managing the students’ internal assessments, ensuring rigorous academic standards are met.

The department boasts a fully equipped laboratory and state-of-the-art Power Labs, designed to nurture a research-oriented mindset among students. The integration of advanced teaching methodologies enables students to gain practical knowledge alongside theoretical insights, making the learning process highly interactive.

The department is fortunate to have two PhD-qualified faculty members, actively contributing to both teaching and research. Current research endeavors include ongoing studies with 4th-year students focusing on cell phone addiction and its correlation with daytime sleepiness. Faculty members are also investigating the effects of exam stress on medical students. Another significant research project is being conducted with 2nd-year students, comparing the integrated modular system of education with the conventional teaching system, aiming to evaluate its impact on medical education.
